10 indoor activities for winter school holidays

Check these great 10 indoor activities for winter school holidays – Melbourne South/East!

It’s that time of year where the weather is gloomy and unpredictable. So, play it safe (and dry) by checking out some of our favourite indoor activities with the kids these school holidays. The best part is that you get to sit back and enjoy a coffee or a beer while the kids are burning off some steam.

Try our free App for convenience and kids activities every day – AppStore and PlayStore!

  1. Point of View Café, Lilydale

Recommended for the little ones – from crawling to preschoolers. The play area provides a cubby, musical toys, activities centres and lots more. What’s more, the café serves up great coffee and has a gorgeous view through the large windows.

Point of View Cafe

  1. Harrow & Harvest, Lilydale

A family favourite, there is lots to enjoy here. A large, fun menu and delish treats for the adults. You can browse the gorgeous selection of local products ranging from candles to florals. The kids will spend hours in the huge play space, featuring heaps of U.Me Play items.

Harrow and Harvest

  1. Paint-a-pot, Narre Warren

A great creative activity for both kids and adults. Choose from a large range of ceramics ranging in size and price. Create as much mess as you like with the water-based paints. Enjoy a coffee, lunch or a play in the soft play area.

Paint-a-Pot

  1. General Public, Frankston

Arcade, games, dinner, and dessert all in the one location! Two levels of fun including bowling, pool tables and arcade games. The hardest part will be deciding between Lavezzi Gelateria or Rebel Donuts for dessert.

General Public

  1. Twisted Science, Moorabbin

Fun, interactive STEM play for the kids during the school holidays. Large areas set up for all age groups, including a soft play area for Under 2s.

Twisted Science

  1. The Busy Peacock, Tyabb

Let the kids have all the fun and make all the mess without the worry of cleaning up. Ideal for preschoolers, there is a constant rotation of all kids of creative, messy play. After the session enjoy a coffee and lunch while the kids play in the playroom.

  1. Sk8 House, Carrum Downs

Always a fun time, whether you are a beginner or an expert. Skates and protection available to hire and lots of school holiday events.

  1. Bunjil Place, Narre Warren

Keep an eye on their website for lots of free events and activities. These school holidays they are hosting Cornucopia – an immersive garden display with sculptures hidden amongst a swirl of the world’s first edible fog!

Bunjil Place

  1. The Deck, Brighton

Plan and book a session here, as they only let through small groups. Great imaginative play for toddlers. It’s a small, fenced space but provides plenty to keep them busy.  Best part is that your entry ticket is redeemable on food and drinks.

The Deck

  1. Berwick Springs Hotel, Berwick

Once the kids enter this play area, there is no getting them out. Great for family catch ups or dinners these school holidays.
