Hey there, fabulous parents! Looking for an adults’ night out filled with laughs, giggles, and out-of-the-box humor? Well, clear up your schedules because the Perth Comedy Festival 2024 is set to return from April 22 to May 19!
Our very own homegrown comedians are all primed to tickle your funny bone, alongside a few talented funnymen and funnywomen from overseas. The first round of international comics includes celebrated South African *Schalk Bezuidenhout*, and New Zealand’s own *Melanie Bracewell* and *Guy Montgomery*.
*Schalk Bezuidenhout*, a stand-up hero on Netflix and Comedy Central, will showcase his second stint at the Astor Theatre on May 3 with his show *Keeping Up*. This dashing performer, a South African sensation, is now a married man who is feeling a bit older, a tad wiser, and possibly more mature!
A Kiwi gem, *Melanie Bracewell*, known for her hit show, *The Cheap Seats*, sets out to deliver her punchline-heavy stand-up comedy at the Regal Theatre on May 16. She guarantees a whale of a time with her show, *Attack of the Melanie Bracewell*. Don’t worry, folks – the only attack you’d experience is an onslaught of laughter!
Making the stage roar with laughter will be none other than Best of Fest Sydney Comedy Festival ’23 winner, *Guy Montgomery* (NZ). Catch his hilarious stint, *Over 50,000,000 Guy Fans Can’t be Wrong*, at the Astor Theatre on May 3.
After a hiatus, *Nazeem Hussain* is back and will be presenting his show *Totally Normal* at the Regal Theatre on May 17. An Australian comedy star and a beloved television and radio personality – Hussain promises a show filled with laughter.
Also gracing the stage is *Rhys Nicholson*, winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award for Most Outstanding Show ’22, and *Ivan Aristiguieta* who was awarded Best Comedy Weekly for two years running at Adelaide Fringe (’22 and ’23).
Adding to the comedy pool are *Nina Oyama*, and previously announced acts include dead-pan comedic master *Luke Heggie*, and the parody sensation, *Swamplesque*.
