The Best Waterfalls For Kids In Perth

Spring has officially SPRUNG! This means that the days are getting warmer, and our beautiful waterfalls will start to dry up, but don’t stress! You’ve still got a good few weeks to take your kids to see some of Perth’s child-friendly waterfalls…some are even pram-friendly!

Lesmurdie Falls

This is one of the easiest waterfalls to get to in Perth, being just a quick 30-minute drive from the city. You’ve also got the option of exploring the top of the waterfall, or the bottom (which is my favourite).

You won’t be able to take your pram on this one, so grab the carrier if you’ve got a bub, and let your older toddler/kids roam free.

I like to explore the bottom of the waterfall, which means parking your car at the Lower Lesmurdie Falls Car Park on Palm Terrace. From here, it’s an easy walk to reach the majestic waterfall!

You can even bring a packed lunch and sit at the picnic area afterward!

National Park Falls | John Forrest National Park, Hovea

There are two wonderful waterfalls in John Forrest National Park, however, if you’ve got kids in tow then you probably want to stick to National Park Falls, which is a little over 1km from the main picnic area.

Follow the signs from the carpark to National Park Falls.  If you’ve got a robust pram, you can also take that, as the gravel road to the falls is flat.

This waterfall will require you to keep a close eye on little ones, as there are no rails and a bit of a drop once you’re on the rocks.

After your short hike, explore the nature playground and keep an eye out for the kangaroos that like to roam the area.

Note that John Forrest National Park does charge a $12 entry per car, but it’s so worth it!

Noble Falls, Gidgegannup

Just past the town of Gidgegannup lies the beautiful Noble Falls. It has a great picnic spot, a playground for the kids, BBQs, toilets, and a drinking fountain.

This is a waterfall that you could spend the whole day at, with its easy access to the falls and toddler-friendly walking trails (1.3km for the short walk)

Make sure you bring a spare change of clothes because there are some great areas for the kids to paddle around and explore the water.

John Oldham Falls

Looking for something a little closer to home? Nestled amongst the busyness of the city is John Oldham Falls in West Perth. Surrounded by lush gardens, this waterfall is super easy to get to, with an easy access path (You can take your pram), playground, pond, and even a long slide that the kids will love!
